Reducing duration changes actual work ???

Hi,

We have a serious problem here. Why for a given project, in a given task
with actuals, when we reduce the duration of the task the actual of some
ressources are reducing to. Actuals should be protected data.

For example, I have this task with these specifications :

BEFORE the duration is changed
Task : Detail Stakeholder Requirements
Start : Wed 05-04-13
Finish : Mon 05-08-29
Duration : 6,14d days
Ressource 1 : 28 h of actual work

AFTER the duration is changed
Task : Detail Stakeholder Requirements
Start : Wed 05-04-13
Finish : Fri 05-04-15
Duration : 2 days
Ressource 1 : 9 h of actual work

Why does't it make this automatic calculation?

Andrea:

It sounds like you're using a Fixed-Duration task. The programming bias in
the system causes durations changes to fixed-duration tasks to recalculate
planned and actual work. This is the expected behavior of the system and
indicates that you should probably be using a different task type.
