Reducing the Size of "Unfiled Notes.one"

Is there anyway to reduce the size of the "unfiled notes.one" file? All my
other onenote files are rather small, but my "unfiled notes.one" file is
4.2gb! This makes it difficult to backup as my backup drive cannot copy files
over 4gb. Is there anyway to redistribute the size of this file to the other
files?

I should mention that there are no actual files in my Unfiled Notes section.
They are originally placed there, but I move them to their respect locations.
This is one of the reasons why I don't understand why its file is so large.

Try it with "Optimizing".
Tools > Option > Save
Use the button in the middle section "Optimize all files".

If this does not reduce the file (although it's really empty):
Close ON, then delete the file "unfiled notes.one" in the explorer.
It will automatically be recreated.
