Redundant Images

I'm using the photo gallery template & adding images. Then I link the
'thumbnail' images (using a relative reference) to larger images, also
stored in the same directory.

Why is it when I publish my web page on the hard disk, there are two copies
of each thumbnail image, plus the larger image? The two copies of the
thumbnail images are not identical, say 4kb & 5kb. The published web page
works ok but there's a lot of redundant space taken up by these multiple
images.

Thanks!

I have this problem also. When I delete one of the thumbnail images, the
image can't be seen on a particular browser (say Firefox). When I delete
the other thumbnail, the image can be seen on Firefox but not IE. It's very
strange.

There are also some ways to set up the photo gallery where only one
thumbnail image will work with all browsers. I've managed to set up my
webpage (http://amily.netfirms.com) with only 1 thumbnail image for each
picture. But when I updated the webpage with new pictures & re-published, 2
thumbnail images appeared for the add-on images (but not the original
images). I can't figure it out.

That's the way Publisher works. The web page code is written to where
different versions of an image may be used depending on the client
browser.
