Redundant Named Ranges Linking to Other Files

I have a large spreadsheet model (passworded as it is held on a networked
file structure) which has evolved over a couple of years. Worksheets have
been copied into the file bringing along their baggage, viz named ranges.
The result of this is that when I open the file I have to enter a series of
passwords as the file accesses all the named ranges in the other passworded
files.

It is likely that the majority of these ranges are redundant and I feel a
compelling need to get rid of both the named ranges and some of the redundant
worksheets to make the file more efficient. The problem is that I do not
know which named ranges are still performing vital functions and which are
not.

Ideally what I need is some sort of auditing tool that will, as a minimum,
highlight all the cells on all the sheets that contain named ranges in the
formulas.

Any ideas?
