Ref fields in protected forms

I want to have the Ref field update automatically
whenever the form field of the same bookmark name is
updated.

The ref field updates automatically in one template I
have however I have copied the template, ref field, tried
everything but I can't make it happen in other templates.

Any help is appreciated.

I found the answer on Page 26 and I have added it to some
code in a vba project we use.

ActiveDocument.Fields.Update

A suggestion would be to separate Mail Merge and Fields
into 2 categories.

You can also do it by checking the "Calculate on exit" box in the Properties
dialog for the formfield into which the data is being entered.
