refer to record number

i have a report that lists information including ranking
individuals on some criteria. i was hoping to indicate and
individuals rank by simply sorting the record source by
whatever field i'm ranking by and then referring to the
current record number to give me a rank.

does anyone know how to do that in a control? any help
would be great. thanks!

Add a control to your report with =1 as the ControlSource and then set the RunningSum
property to "Over All".
