I was curious if it is possible to reference an object in Visio 2003 with a
row in Excel. I would like to be able to tie an object in Visio to a single
row in Excel and be able to reference particular cells to which the
information will show up in Visio for that object (either in the form of
custom data fields, or as text for the object).
In case there may be a method of doing such a thing, this is my attempted
goal:
I have an Excel spreadsheet with hardware information concerning a Lab
layout. Part of the data for each piece of hardware is the table # it
resides on. In order to visualize the lab layout, I'm using Visio to
represent each table and what resides on them. I would like to be able to
pull data from the excel spreadsheet automaticly (or maybe even somehow use
the Excel spreadsheet to dynamicly update a Visio drawing(s)) to help reduce
in the massive amounts of data reproduction.
Thanks,
Brian
