Reference to a page number

I have a table that contains a title and a page number
referring to that page that contains the title. How do I
insert the page number in this table so that it jumps to
the right section in the document?

Which version of Word? Hopefully you formatted the "titles" in your
document with a Heading style (i.e., Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, etc.)?

In Word XP and assuming you used Heading styles, you could insert a
hyperlinked cross-reference to each heading. Click on Insert ->
Reference -> Cross-reference. In the "Reference type" drop-down menu,
choose "Heading", and in the "For which heading" box, click on the
heading of your choice. In the "Insert reference to" drop-down menu,
choose "Page number". Make sure the "Insert as hyperlink" box is
checked. Click on Insert. Do this for each title in your table.
Depending on whether or not "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink" is
checked in Tools -> Options -> Edit, clicking or Control+clicking on the
page number will move the cursor to the beginning of the
cross-referenced heading.

If you did not use Heading styles, you could bookmark each title in the
document (highlight title, then click on Insert -> Bookmark -> type a
unique name for the bookmark -> Add), and then insert a hyperlinked
cross-reference to each bookmark.

Inserting cross-references is similar in older versions of Word, except
the menus are a little bit different.

Hope this helps. garfield-n-odie

Use Insert>Cross Reference and check the Insert as hyperlink checkbox.
