References in Microsoft Word

Can I do references for ceratin numbers or words between different Microsoft
Word Files? For example, I have two files: A and B. These two files are
completely different in text, but there is one common number. So, is it
possible to make a reference of that number from file A to file B so that if
I change that number in file A, I would not need to make the same change in
file B?
