References without line?

Hello,

With Word2003 when you insert a Reference at the end of a document Word
puts a small horizontal line there.

But what if I want to remove that line - is that possible?

I know word adds a line after the reference. But I do not know if this
problem occurs if you have any other Reference software like End note.
Probably downloading a trial version of the software and playing around
would not be bad start. Hope this helps.
