Referencing a word field like NumWords in formula field

Hi All,
I need to display total number of words minus the words in heading in a
document.

I am trying to create a formula field that will display NumWords - 10.
However, I can't seem to figure a way to reference field like NumWords in a
formula.

Please help.

Your field needs to be { = { NUMWORDS } - 10 }
