Reformatting a .txt doc from as400

Quick question if you please.

Currently we have a report that is generated on an as400 and ftp'd to
the lan as a .txt file. when this happens we loose all the page
breaks put in by the as400.

I would like to somehow create a macro or some such to put the page
breaks back in. I am not sure how to go about this...

I messed around with the macro recorder in word but didnt get the
results i needed. I could key in on the word "Page:" to trigger the
page break but i dont know how to go about it.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi Berae,

Currently we have a report that is generated on an as400 and ftp'd
to the lan as a .txt file. when this happens we loose all the page
breaks put in by the as400.

how do you establish that this is so? Do you mean that by ftp-ing, you
lose any formatting? Or that, when you open the txt-file in Word, the
page breaks (there are page breaks in a text file ...?) are gone? On
your workstation, how is the file created up front ...?

Anything further will depend on the above I guess; for instance, maybe
there's still some control code left where these page breaks have been
(possible search/replace-able).
