reformatting large numbers of equations

Can anyone tell me how I can easily reformat many equation objects at the
same time (to the same format)?

I found out how to change the style (font and character size) of one
equation. After that, opening and closing a different equation will apply
the latest format to this equation. So in theory I could use this technique
to change all equations, but since I have to change over one hundred
equations I was hoping to find a quicker and easier way.

I am using Microsoft Word 2000.

I would appreciate any help I could get.
