REFPAGE to non-bookmark

Marko Pinteric

Is it possible to find the page in which Heading "4.1" appears,
something like {REFPAGE "4.1" \h}?

One hint which might lead to the solution is that I force Heading 2
style to create a bookmark for each Heading 2, which name is exactly the
same as the name of Heading 2.

To achieve this the question arises if it possible to insert bookmark
with field codes, like {BOOKMARK "bookmark_name"}?

Thanks for answers

You can use the cross-reference feature to get the page number of a
certain heading. Simply use Insert>Reference>Cross-reference (or
Insert>Cross-Reference for Word 97/2000). Note that the
cross-reference feature actually depends on (hidden) bookmarks and REF
fields. If you don't want Word's automatic bookmarks (inserted as you
create the cross-references from the Cross-reference dialog box), you
can create your own and then insert REF fields referencing the
contents, page number or paragraph number of those bookmarks.

To expand on what Stefan said, in the Cross-reference dialog, select
"Heading" as the "Reference type" and "Page number" under "Insert reference
to."
