Refresh front-end from server based front-end based on version

Hallo,

Is there a way to refresh the local front-end from a server based front-end
by checking the version? If server front-end version is higher then the
local front-end should be refreshed.

I have no experience with this, but try Tony Toews' Auto
FE Updater utility found here:

Thanx for the reply.

This is a separate app (next to my own). Would like it to be part of my own
app together with a way to hard-code the path to the back-end by code...

Does anybode have tips on how to accomplish refreshing a front-end and
hard-code links to a back-end?
