Looks like my original post got lost.
We have an app that was built for us about 10 years ago, using an early
version of Access. Now we're using Access 2003.
Recently some users are having problems with drop-down fields. When they
click the drop-down arrow they don't see any of the choices. However, if
they click a 'blank' line, an entry is chosen--they just cannot see it. (I
think we know the name is there because it will print, or something).
We had a consultant look at it, and he said it was a 'refresh' issue. He
said it was possibly caused by a combination of newer hardware and the
growing size of the database (it's under 150MB). Strange, but he had run
into it before and was able to fix one of the fields so it displayed
properly. (We have dozens of fields to fix.) What he did was go into layout
view or a properties page (?) and copy a query statement from one field and
paste it into another field higher up in the window. He said this caused the
data to load sooner and the field no longer displayed blank.
Unfortunately, I cannot contact the consultant. Can anybody point me in the
right direction? I've hunted around, right-clicking on every object I can
find, but cannot find the screen he was on.
TIA
