Refresh Message List insists on modifying thecurrently selected Mail View

I use an Unread message view extensively. After I read one or more messages, I use Refresh Message List (Apple-L) to refresh the display.

When I try to leave that view, I get a pop-up asking me if I want to save the search because it has changed. If I don't use Apple-L, I never see the pop-up.

This is extremely annoying behavior.

I'm reproducing this behavior myself but don't see any way to change it.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature
changed in future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism
in any Office application.
