Refresh PivotTable Data Field List

Okay, I need some help please.

I have a pivot table that has a source from a sheet within the same
workbook. I have added a couple of rows to the source and then reset the
pivot table to accept the additional rows. Next I edited one of the fields
information from "foo" to "foobar". This same field can be used in
filtering by choosing the combo box and checking the specific info.
However, I noticed that my combobox shows both "foo" and "foobar". I can
check "foo" and nothing comes up.

I have down Refreshes both coming into the workbook and by right clicking
and choosing refresh. Nothing seems to clear out the cache.

I moved the data field to the page field section. My combobox shows the
right info. However, when I drag it back down as a data field, all of the
same cache remains again.

How do I get the data field combo boxes to clear without doing a macro?

Peace,
Keith

You might want to try unchecking "Save Data with Table Layout" in the
PivotTable Options dialog. Save the workbook, close it, and then reopen it.
Excel should rebuild the cache. (You may wish to check "Save Data..." after
the refresh to improve performance of future loads.

I gave it a try. When I reopen the file and I choose the dropdown, I am
prompted to refresh. I do the refresh. Then I choose the drop down and all
the data is there again.

Any other suggestions?

Peace,
Keith

This sounds like an idea. But the developer in me wants to know why it does
this. My concern is sending the information to a client and them having the
same problem.

Peace,
Keith
