I have designed a pivot table in Excel that takes its data from MS Access for
multiple users. All users have the file on the G:\ drive but one (he has it
on the I:\ drive). Everytime this user tries to refresh the data the pivot
table cannot find the data source; of couse it is looking for G:\ not I:\ . I
have tried to:
1. Change the user to G:\ drive, however he has some other stuff that make
it hard to change; so if I copy the folder with the file it would also change
the database path name. Besides, I would need to do the same for any
potential user.
2. Map the address as \\folder name\file.mdb . However, MS Access made me
map it to a specific drive (G:\ or any letter; not \\ as I would like - when
doing the get database stuff in the pivot table)
Does anybody have suggestion?
PS: I do not find MS Access pivot table as strong or reliable as Excel pivot
tables.
