Refreshing drawings in Word 2003

I have used Word's built in drawing tool, equation tool and as I scroll
through the document it takes a long time to refresh the drawings and
equations. Sometimes I have to klick on the drawing to refresh it, but even
then it does not always work.
Word 97 worked perfectly, until I installed 2003 I had no problems.

Sluggishness like this is sometimes caused by Word not cleaning
out its temporary files like it should (or by such files being
left over after a crash). Easiest way to clean out your temp
folder is to run the "Disk Cleanup" tool. This should be in Start
All Programs > Accessories > System Tools, or by clicking Start
Run, typing cleanmgr in the Open box, and clicking OK. (That's
for XP. I don't know if Disk Cleanup is available on Vista.)

article says it applies to Office 2000, but will also apply to
later versions of Office, though to a lesser degree.
