Regarding removing user from security groups etc

hey

At work we use Project 2007 Professional and Project Server 2007 and PWA
2007...

My project leader is allowed to open Project 2007 and connect with Project
Server. But when he starts Project 2007, he get an message saying "Login
failed, project could not connect to the server"

This project leader is the member of the same security groups and the same
security categories as me. In addition I've set all the global permissions
on this project leader to allow, and he is still not allowed to connect with
Project Server.... But I can connect... we are member of the same security
groups/categories

So I was thinking. what if I remove this project leader from the security
groups and security categories and remove all his individual global
settings.. then save his profile again.. and reassign him again to the
security groups and security categories.. Is it safe to do this? I mean can
some projects be deleted if I do this... I ask because he is set to owner of
the projects here and he wouldn't like if the projects he runs start to
disappear from Project....

Any suggestions?

Have you checked carefully the address of Project Server for his project
server account under Tools, Enterprise Options, Accounts?

Unfortunately Project Professional does not have a test button so if the PS
address is wrong you will get this error.

Can he use this address to see PWA in IE?

I've checked it and his PS address is correct, he is able to login via PWA
in IE, but not via Project Professional 2007

the project leader is using Windows Vista, and I'm using Windows XP Pro
(sp2)

can Vista cause this problem?
