I have had Office X installed on my desktop for several years with few
problems. I recently bought my wife an new iMac and myself a Powerbook
and I'm trying to install Office from the installation CD on both
machines. It is an Upgrade CD, as I've owned several earlier versions
of Office.
I was able to obtain the Product ID for Office from the "About..."
pull-down menu option on my desktop computer. I also have something
called the Product Key labeled to the installation CD itself. I've
misplaced or lost any other documentation that came with the
application in its original packaging.
When I try to install Office on the new machines, neither of these
registration or serial numbers work to complete the installation. Am I
missing a serial number of one sort or another? How do I go about
finding it?
I sure hope I'm ot going to have to pay Microsoft $35 just to get this
expensive application installed on two new machines.
Anyone have any comments or suggestions?
