Jay:
I want to thank you for your registry "hack" to remove corner marks:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...man"+marks+Kris&rnum=1&hl=en#cc38d8ccab08d07f
Manually editing the following key fixed my problem with margin marks:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\ LanguageResources
Leaving 1033 as "On", but changing another one to "Off" did the trick.
My problems began when I copied and pasted a German e-mail into Word. That
must have triggered a language addition. Language Tools only shows U.S.
English as enabled, but I had an entry for 4100 that was turned "On".
Changing it to "Off" removed the marks.
Have you considered amending the Knowledge Base Article to include editing
the registry?

Thank you VERY much for the workaround.
