Reinstall Office Professional 2003

My hard drive blew up; I had to have it replaced. I used my recovery disk to
reinstall Windows XP (home edition).

When I tried to reinstall Office 2003 Professional from the original CD, it
appeared to install, it accepted the product key from the CD case.

However, when I try to open any of the applications, I am asked to enter the
Product Key. I enter the same product key as I did earlier; but I am told
that it is an invalid product key.

What am I doing wrong?

When you used the recovery disk to reinstall Windows, it may have
reinstalled a trial version of Office 2003 on your computer. If you
look in Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs, do you see two
listings for Office 2003? You need to uninstall the trial version
before you install your full version of Office 2003 Pro. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836178 "You receive an 'invalid
product key' error message when you start an Office 2003 program after
you install Office Professional Edition 2003" for more information.
