Reinstall Office V.x

R

Rob Murphy

I had to use to Reinstall Software CD that was included with my
Powerbook (in order to reinstall Quickbboks).

I have previously purchased Office V.x, however, since running the
Software reinstall, Office V.x, now thinks it is the Test drive
version, and asks me to purchase Office within 30 days.

Two questions:

- Can this be fixed without doing a uninstall and reinstall?
- If I have to uninstall and reinstall, is there a something I can do
to preserve my five + years of Entourage email?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

No, you need to uninstall the Test Drive and re-install the full version of
Office X from the CD.

The instructions for uninstalling the Test Drive are here:
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support.aspx?pid=bulletin>

Then, re-install Office X from the CD. Download and install the 10.1.2,
10.1.4, and 10.1.5 updates from Microsoft.

Your Entourage data should be preserved, but if you want to back it up, just
copy the Microsoft User Data folder to some other drive:
/Users/<Your User>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/

To restore the data in the folder, just copy it back to the same location.
