Reinstall Publkisher 98 without the installtion disk

Had to do a Win XP reinstall, which of course messed up all my
applications, each of which then has to be reinstalled from the
installion disk. But my Publisher 98 disk has disappeared.

Publisher 98 is still in my computer. It will attempt to setup from the
setup.exe in the directory. But it quits with the message that QS98.DLL
could not register itself because I am either out of memory (no) or the
file is corrupt (no, downloaded a new one).

Can anyone help? Is there a Registry tweak that will allow Publisher to
reinstall? It says it can install without the CD.

Well, Gogarty, if you had read the thread you started earlier you should realize
you cannot install 98 without the disk...

Why not? The program itself says it can. It's just that pesky QS98.dll that
won't register itself. I can understand its feelings. I too get fed up with
having to register here, register there, register everywhere any time I seek
information on the Web.

Did you try
Start, run, type

Regsvr32 qs98.dll

Try this
Locate the Biz1logo.jsp file and rename it to Biz1logo.old. Restart Publisher.
I don't know where this file is on your computer, on mine it is in My Documents.

Thank you so much for your help. It wasn't the solution but got me started in
the right direction. The key was the regsvr32, but also downloading all the
other DLLs that had disappeared. Publisher98 now appears once again to be
fully functional in the absence of the installtion disk, which of course will
now return from vacation.
