Reinstalled Software

Hi! I'm having an Office v. X problem, and I was hoping someone could
help me.

A few days ago, I reinstalled the system software that came with my
Emac (I am using 10.2.4). Previously, I had installed Office Student
and Teacher Edition. When my computer restarted after the software
reinstallation, MSN Messenger was working fine. Powerpoint, Excel, and
Entourage gave me the message "The Office v. X test drive has
expired..." Word was still renamed "Evil Application of Doom", a name I
gave it, so I assumed it was fine and it functioned for a few times.
Then, it started giving the message, "Word has unexpectedly quit." I
renamed it Word, and it is still not working. I'm assuming that my
reinstallation of the Test Drive caused Office v. X to delete?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I'd make the same assumption. The fix is to use the Remove Office
application in the Value Pak folder of your installation CD. Then
reinstall Office, along with update 10.1.6, which you can find at
Mactopia:

http://microsoft.com/mac/

OTOH, depending on what else you reinstalled, you may have some other
problems. For Word, I'd recommend you follow the advice given here:

http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/TroubleshootingIndex.htm

(If you're using Safari, you may need to hit refresh several times).

Everything works now except for Entourage, which is not vital right
now. Thanks for your help!
