Reinstalling 2001 upgrade (w/o copy of 98)?

For a myriad of reasons, I'm needing to reinstall my copy of Office 2001 on
newly formatted hard drive. This is an UPGRADE version. Unfortunately, I
can't find my copy of Office 98 ANYWHERE!! And I don't have a copy installed
because the previous drive is unusuable (hence the new formatted hard
drive).

Any tips on what to do? Will MS tech support be able to help me with this
predicament?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

You could try calling Product Support Services. I don't know what they
can do for you if you don't have some proof of purchase, though.

I don't know that you have to have Office98 installed, so if you can
find someone with an Office98 CD, you may be able to use that to
upgrade. A usergroup is a good place to start.

If neither of those options work, eBay's usually got a copy of Office 98
available fairly cheap, and your local Apple dealer may know of someone
who's selling older apps cheaply.
