reinstalling Office 2000 without taking previous installation off.

Can I reinstall over the previou installation of Office
2000 without loosing the information?

I can't get the old information off nor can I start
Office due to a hard drive problem. The hard drive
problem is fixed. However, when I try to use Excel or
Word I am told to reinstall.
