Reinstalling Office 2007 After Reformatting

B

Ben

I have Office 2007 Ultimate via the ultimate steal.

I have installed the software on my laptop and three other computers in my
house. During the last installation I was warned it would be the last
installation i could do.

I need to reformat the hard drive on my laptop. Will I have trouble
reinstalling Office (i have the dvd)? Is there a way for me to keep the
software i have on my computer now? Will verification recognize my computer
after the reformat?

Thanks

No Office license allows for installation on 4 computers - only the Home and Student edition allows for installation to more than 2 computers (limit 3).

If you've already activated Office on that computer, and you haven't changed any
hardware, then you shouldn't have any trouble with activating the reinstalled
copy. If it does complain, you should be shown a telephone number to call and
explain that the disk was reformatted.

Maybe it is only on 3. Its beside the fact, though, i think.

I believe the Ultimate Steal has the same license...since it is ONLY for
students with reg info.

Not beside the fact. You should read Section 2 "Installation and Use
Rights" of your Office 2007 Software License Terms, which you agreed to
abide by when you installed the software, and which you can access by
starting Word 2007 and clicking on Office Button | Word Options |
Resources | About | View the Microsoft Software License Terms. It says
you can install the software on TWO licensed devices (computers). It
does not say three computers, or four computers, or five computers. You
and soapboxllc are way over the limit.
Maybe it is only on 3. Its beside the fact, though, i think.
