Reinstalling Office 97 after Hard Drive Crash

Joe Conrad

I am trying to reinstall Office 97 onto a system running Windows 2000 after replacing my hard drive. However, SETUP will not allow reinstallation because it "cannot confirm that I am a licensee of one of the qualified products listed on the Office 97 box." Office 97 was purchased and originally installed as a licensed product by me. I do not understand why the full version of Office 97 is now being recognized only as an UPDATE and cannot be istalled. How can I go about reinstalling Office 97, which is a properly licensed product?

This might also be a good time to point out to everyone why
BACKUPS can be very important life savers to have around.
Only one of many possibilities where they can be useful.
