Reinstalling Office on a New Computer

I want to move Office XP Pro (2002 version) to a new
computer. What do I have to do to ensure I'll be able to
activate it on the new computer? Will simply uninstalling
it from the first computer do the trick? How does
Microsoft know I've removed it?

If your Office XP Professional retail version, uninstall from old computer
and install in new computer. When you activate, you will have an internet
option and a phone option. The internet option should work if it has been
more than 120 days since prior activation. Else, use phone option.

If your Office XP Professional in a pre-installed OEM version, it is tied to
the original computer.
