office97 but I lost the manual with the product key to

Contact Microsoft Product Support and explain your situation to them.

Contact Microsoft sales; if you can convince them that you have a
valid copy they'll send you a new product key. The phone number is on
Microsoft's website (you'll probably need to do some digging).

Note that nobody from Microsoft routinely covers these newsgroups,
most of us are volunteers not affiliated with the company. We can
sympathize but we can't get you a key!
