Reinstalling XP (no disks with new pc)

How would a person go about reinstalling office xp if the disks did not come with the computer when purchased? Seems my kiddo was into the whole kazaa thing and we now have xp pro and i'd rather be rid of that whole mess and have what came with the puter. Bought it in '01 so support is no longer available.

Or, is there a way to reverse the upgrade w/o losing the standard?? Tried add/remove programs but only the pro version is listed and I do need it until i figure out how to clean up the whole mess.

If your Office XP was installed on your system when purchased it is probably an oem version
This means that it was tied to your original computer, and cannot be transferred to a new system
If you would re-phrase your question to say exactly what you did and include your os, ie: Windows ME, 98, XP Home or Pro, someone may be able to provide you with an exact answer to your post.

Ok, trying again.

I currently have a pc with ms xp home. It came installed with all software and no disks were included with the pc, other than some drivers, etc. The office version it came with was ms office xp home. Long story short, now has xp pro and would like to revert to xp home. Is there some way to do this without doing a factory restore?

That help? If still clear as mud, I can try again.
thanks

You may have to - there's no such thing as "Office XP Home" - do you mean
Office XP Small Business Edition? If that's the case, then you'll have to
refer to the manufacturer as XP SBE was OEM only and MS does not, cannot and
will not assist with OEM installations.

As for reverting to Home from Pro, I'm afraid it's format and reinstall time
as it's a one way ticket. Pro is considered to be 'superior' to Home and you
cannot downgrade by reinstalling over the top - a format is the only way to
go.

Yup - and to add to Cerridwen, make sure you backup all pertinent
information before you reformat and install again.

I kinda figured as much and have been working on backing up everything i want.
Oh, sorry about the office xp 'home' should have been standard, I think that's the correct term. Is really late here so I'm not sure if I'm making sense or even know what i'm talking about at this point
Thanks all
