relating the display of check box value to another feild

its a silly prob .. but its buging me
the situation is as follow :
i have a view form has some check boxes in it .. the
values of the check boxes were entrd in pervious input
form like this :
if the chek box is selected then an other field is enabled
to enter data .. now the prob is not on the input form but
on the view form .. how can i convince that field to
change status from enabed to unenabled according to the
value of my check box when i serve though the from .ie
when the record changes !
if any one have any idea how that could be i would be very
greatfull
