Relationship will not save

Any relationships that I establish amoung the 4 tables
that I am working with do not retain those configurations.
Upon exiting the relationship design window I save it,
then open the relationships again and the relationships
are gone, but tables are still present. As a first
troubleshooting measure, I deleted all query relationships
and tried to build the table relationship once again but
the same thing happened. Any ideas?

Are you certain the relationship is gone? One test would be to open a new
query in design mode and add two tables you are (fairly) sure you related.
If the join between them is automatically made, Access believes them to be
related.

Working from a copy ...

Have you tried compacting and repairing the db yet?
