relative hyperlinks - Word 2003

A & L Lane

I am writing some documents which are in the format of an index page and a
number of pages linked to the index saved as web page archive files.
Although my knowledge of html is minimal, I have previously successfully
written a web page for us using Word . This project will be shifted on to
another computer and probably burned to a CD so I really want all the
hyperlinks to be relative as I put them in so they work wherever I copy the
project to. This was easy in previous versions of Word but I am now running
Word 2003 and Windows XP and I cant seem to work it out. I think I am
supposed to set a hyperlink base in the properties sheet but the help is no
help on this and I havent been able to get it to work. Am I supposed to put
this base hyperlink in all the separate documents which are linked back to
the index or in just the index page. How much of the path do I put in the
hyperlink base so that it doesnt get too specific. I'm probably missing
something obvious but I'm just not getting it. An example in the help would
be nice but it has no detail whatever and I'm floundering.
any suggestions gratefully received.

cheers
Leah Lane
