I have a master project with 7 embedded projects within it plus a resource
pool. I need to have predecessor and successor links between these projects
and to the master. However, I also have to have the whole lot automatically
replicated to other file servers in different countries. As the paths listed
for these inter-project links seem to be 'absolute' (they show the full path
from server name to the line in the project) rather than 'relative' Project
often attempts to refer to the inappropriate versions.
I note that Project does try to be smart and update the paths but this is
not very reliable.
Is there a way to force Project to use relative paths rather than absolute
ones?
For example: In master_project.mpp I would have a task link with the
predecessor field showing '.\project1.mpp\4' instead of
'\\server1\files\projects\project1.mpp\4"
Thanks
