Hi,

1. Is ther any automatic option to set the % coplete that will be
relative to the start and finish date? (i.e. if the task duration is
10 days and they finished 5 days of work I would like to write 50%)

2. What is the meaning of "late" in the "status" (or status indicator)
culomn?
i.e. I see Late on a task that steal have time to finish (finish date
is on august. here is the task copy:

Task name duration
status start date finish date
Writing Technical Spec. Approval (TSA) 55 days Late Thu 17/05/07
Sun 05/08/07

I put 85% that completed

1. Not automatic, but here is the next best thing-
Turn on the Tracking Toolbar (view/toolbars/tracking...)
Highlight the tasks you want to update.
Click on the icon that says "Update as scheduled"
Alternative- Tools/Tracking/Update Project....

2. Tasks will be status "Late" when the %Complete (cummulative) does not
pass through 12:01AM on the day before the status date.
Set the status date: Project/Project Information...
In your specific case, assuming status date 26 JULY 2007, you will need a
%Complete of 88% or greater to be on schedule.

There is good information on the status column in the help. Select the
Status column, hover Mr. Mouse over the header and select "Help on Status"
