release date for Project 98?

Jeff Baker

Hello,

I know this may seem like an odd question, but does
anyone know the date which Microsoft released Project 98?
Was it in the year 1998, 1997 or 1999? I would like to
know the exact date if possible (e.g., 1 July 1998).
Does Microsoft maintain this information somewhere
publicly available?

I appreciate any help with this question.

Hi Mike,
thanks for your reply. I checked the site you refered me
to, and it says Oct 30, 1997. I also received a reply
from Microsoft customer support, which refered me to the
following site which has the date of Dec 25, 1997 which
Project 98 was released.

Microsoft Product Lifecycle:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=fh;
[ln];lifeprodp

What to do? Both are from Microsoft websites, and they
don't agree.

Don't know - take your pick! I favour the earlier date as a version date as
the later date is General Availability.
