I have a FE/BE database. It needs to reference linked text files which are
frequently updated by another system. The database is started by a batch
file which copies the MDE and the latest text files to the user’s PC. The
splash form has code to relink to these local text files. On PCs that use
Access 2002 this works fine. On PCs running 2003, this code is giving error
3033 – lack of permissions. The user has write access to the original
tables in the back end and modify access to the original linked table in the
front end. I have also given the user write access to the MsysObjects table,
but I am still not able to relink the tables in Access 2003. Does anyone
have any suggestions or work-arounds?
