reload office 2007 professional to remove "non-commercial use"

I have a customer in AZ (I am in SC) running vista, that used a local
consultant to reload a new Sony laptop. She now has the "non-commercial use"
header on all her office 2007 professional programs. The consultant will not
talk to us so I am assuming that the consultant loaded an academic copy of
office first and then loaded my customer's office 2007 professional over it.
I understand that we need to remove office completely and then re-install
just the office 2007 professional. My concern is that I don't want my
customer to loose any of her settings or data. Do I need to run the transfer
program with some options to save everything, or should all the settings
remain if I do a complete remove of office and re-install office 2007
professional. (I will of course have her backup her outlook data.)

Hi Patrick,

I kind of missd the answer on the assumption that Outlook data would be lost.
If I would do the same; do I than have to setup my 12 mailboxes again?

No data is removed/destroyed in uninstalling Offfice, although data backups
allways reccomended (Simply copy your Outlook data files, with Outlook
*closed*
Your Outlook Profile will remain and the reinstall usually reconnects it
without problems

Thanks for the assurance.
I was a bit impatient and already went ahead yesterday.
What I did was first making a backup (indeed wise anyway). After that I went
to add/remove programms or whatever that's called in Vista.
I saw that I did indeed forget to uninstall the trial version before I
installed the current version.
Just uninstalling the trial, with leaving the professional version intact
was sufficient for me.

Unfortunately it hasn't really helped in the tremendous amount of Office
crashes that I'm getting used to at the moment (at least 20 per day) I don't
know if it is triggered by Office or Vista.
I'm working usually with files stored as 97-2003 type, because of
portability. Ãf I would be sure that all drivers would exist I would blindly
upgrade my Vista to XP and my Office 2007 to Office 2003 - and yes I do
consider that an upgrade.
