Remaing Work displays days instead of hours

Project Server 2007 - SP1

I added the Progress [Assignment] and Remaining Work [Assignment] fields to
the My Work - My Assignments view and enabled the display of the Hours per
day in the My Tasks web part.

This enabled a view that allows staff to enter time against tasks in an
hourly format. The issue is the value in Remaining Work appears in days.

Yet when you drill down into the Assignment Details page for the task it
displays remaining work in hours.

Does anyone know how to change the presentation of Remaining Work to hours
instead of days?

You can add "Remaining Work" to the summary view called "My Assignments" and
that displays in days.

Thank you for your feedback. I will take a look at that.

My hope was to find a way to have the Remaining Work in My Assignments show
hours instead of days. The reason is staff will be inputing data in hours
and I wanted Remaining Work to show hours as well - comparing apples to
apples.

The way it is, staff need to covert their remaining work estimates into days
or drill down to get it in hours.

What I don't understand is it appears to be the same field, just displaying
differently based on the screen you put it in. That seems crazy to me.

Hey Chuck,

You can change the web part for "My Task" views to show work in hours rather
than days. Here is how:

1) Log onto PWA and go to "My Tasks"
2) Click on Site Actions>Edit Page from the top right of the screen
3) Once in edit mode, click on edit>Modify Shared Web Part from the top
right of the "My Tasks" web part
4) Scroll to the bottom of the edit options and expand the "Project Web
Access" options
5) Change the "Work Format" from Days to Hours
6) Click "Apply"
7) Once you are satisfied, click "OK" and exit out of edit mode

This will change the format to hours for all users.

Thank you! Initially the choice was not visible and the scroll bar for the
web part was hidden under the web page scroll bar.

With you hint I saw my problem and solved it.
