Remaining Duration and calculating finish date

L

Laura

Thanks in advance for any help in this frustrating scenario... I have an RDU
of 11 days and have asked for the project to reschedule remaining work as of
12/26/04. The calendar of the project is an 8hr day, weekends worked. There
are no resources on the task. The finish date as calculated is 12/30/04.
Based upon the calendar, it seems that it should finish after the 1st of the
year. I have even removed all predecessors. Constraint Type is ASAP. There
is an actual start date on the task and a percent complete.

Any ideas??? Thanks...

Hi Laura,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

(Please use an International date format as the US one can be confusing). I
don't know what an RDU is, but Project is giving you a finish of 30 Dec
which is 5 days from 26 Dec. At 8 hours per day this equates to 40 working
hours. Now, if you have no resources assigned to the task, where is the
Work coming from? As you have rescheduled from 26 Dec, on an incompleted
task, how may hours of work did you have left? I suspect 40 hours as
Project stated. What is the % Complete? or is this % Work Complete? or even
% Physically Complete? I think we need more detail from you on this.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
