I've been fighting with this one for ages. I need to have my understanding
confirmed. Here's the problem(s):
1. I have a resource assigned to 8 plans, all residing on the server
2. Remaining Work for the resource was set to zero for all tasks in all 8
projects after the projects finished
3. When I open all 8 plans together, each one shows correct Remaining Work
(zero)
4. I can not republish any of the plans because some resources in each plan
have left the organization and their Windows User Accounts have been deleted.
I think I need a Windows User Account for each resource - if there isn't
one, the server update fails and I have to back it out
5. When I open just one plan, Remaining Work shows as the total of Remaining
Work on the server for the other 7 plans.
6. I think I can fix this issue by converting all departed resources to
Local and republishing all the plans. All of the projects are closed.
Does this make sense? I'm running MSP 2003 and EPM. All resources are
enterprise resources.
