Remaining work keeps increasing on task that are no longer publish

I'm running into a recuring issue in several of my projects.
On some tasks that have little to no remaining work left and that are often
not even published, I often notice after opening the project plan that there
is a large amount of remaining work left. This happens on random resources
and I sometime get a warning that opening the file will interupt the
syncrhonization.
I have MS Project 2007 sp2 and we run Project server 2007 sp1

Hi yemella,

We have recently upgraded to MSPS 2007 and are experiencing the same
problems on plans that we have migrated. When opening a plan some task
assignments have hundreds of extra hours of remaining work where there should
be zero.

Have you made any progress with this problem, I see you have had no replies
here.
