remember password problem

i'm just starting to use outlook 2002 in windows xp, and
it won't remember my password. each time i launch
outlook, i have to go to tools, email accounts , then
change my settings to add my password at logon info, and
at the 'more settings' tab for outgoing server, and check
the 'remember password/ box. isp says its something in
windows or outlook, which i reinstalled without
improvement. any suggestions? thanks.

There have been several recent issues with passwords not being retained with
Outlook. If you're running Outlook 2002, the SP1 solves many of these, so
start there. If not, here are some other solutions:
