Reminder/Follow Up Flags on Emails

When sending an email with a reminder/follow up flag on it, the recipients
receive the reminder at the time stated but I don't. Is this correct? For me
to receive the reminder would I have to send the email to myself aswell.

I don't think reminders are generated out of the Sent Items folder so you
wouldn't get the reminder. The quick solution is to send the item to
yourself also. See if this tool would help otherwise:
