Hi NG.
We're running MSP Server 2007 (with infrastructure update) and we have
enabled email notification. It the reminders it seems, that too many
assignemts are listed in the resources mails.
This is the case:
Project Manager approves one assignment from one resource using Task Updates
in PWA. The amount of actual hours or % complete doesn't matter here. (The
effect is always the same). After saving the changes to the project -> when
the Project Manager publishes his project -> all assignments are listed in
the resources email. Even the ones which are already 100% complete (no
remaining work left) and the ones which have been chnaged not to publish
(Publish field set to No). Also all other assignments in this project are
listed even, if they haven't been changed.
In my eyes after the update and publishing the project again, the resource
should only receive information about the one task he/she updated and just in
case other have been shifted by this change, then these should be listed too.
But not each signle task assignment in the project.
Another example is the adding of a new task and assignment to the project.
If the project manager sets the Publish field to No and publishes, the
resource will be notified by mail. But later this will not appear in the My
Tasks view. It's great that you don't see it here, but if I set the Publish
field to No, I also don't want my resource to be informed via mail.
My question now is: is there a reason behind it, why does the system react
in that way, or is this a bug?
thank you for your answers.
Sylvia
