Reminders don't go away when appointment rescheduled

I've just had to reinstall Office 2000 and I upgraded to
SP 3 at the same time. Now, when I reschedule an
appointment, the reminder doesn't go away as it did
before. Apparently I have to dismiss the reminder even
though the appointment has changed. Is this the expected
behavior with SP 3?

Try opening Outlook using the ".../CleanReminders" switch. The
link(s) below (depending upon your Outlook version) will give
you the instructions on how to use it.

/CleanReminders Cleans and regenerates reminders.
